Inside Delivery & Liftgate

Most failed deliveries are not transport failures. They are a truck arriving somewhere with no dock, no equipment, and no appointment.

The work

The accessorials are worth naming plainly because they are exactly what a forwarder has to confirm before committing to their own customer. A consignee with no dock needs a liftgate. A shipment that has to end up in a specific room needs inside delivery. A residence needs both and usually an appointment. A hotel may need marshalling and a booked delivery window.

None of that is exotic. It is just detail to establish at booking, before a driver is standing in the parking lot working it out. Tell us the destination type when you place the order and we will ask you the right questions.

How do I know whether I need a liftgate?

If the receiving site has no loading dock and no forklift, you need one. Office buildings, retail units, residences, and most construction sites fall into that category. If you are unsure, tell dispatch what the destination is and we will make the call. It is a much cheaper conversation than a failed delivery and a second trip.
